2018 will bring some important changes that are sure to ratchet up the cone-dodging thrills.
In addition to the normal classes, each national event will now include a 16-car Shootout on Saturday late afternoon or evening (the Shootout will be on Sundays at All American Get-Togethers). The 16-car field will be comprised of the quickest 16 cars, regardless of class, so the fastest Street Machine, Hot Rod and Truck competitors may very well face off against PRO-class racers.
Additionally, the Street Machine, Hot Rod and Truck classes will adopt a season point structure. At each event, first to tenth place in each of these classes will receive points (10 for first, and one for 10th). Season points champions will not only earn bragging rights, but will also get a feature in the Goodguys Yearbook. This provides great incentive and potential reward for non-PRO competitors who compete at multiple Goodguys events. As a class winner (PRO or otherwise), if you win your class and the shootout at a national event, you could come away with 31 points for the weekend.
