The historic Iowa State Fairgrounds, all 435-acres of it, is fresh, clean, groomed and ready for its guests during this weekend’s Goodguys 23rd Heartland Nationals!
The weather forecast couldn’t be better. Today through Sunday, conditions will be partly cloudy, with calm winds and 6 straight days of high 70s and low 80s with minimal storm chances! In other words – it’s going to be a perfect 4th of July Holiday weekend!
Over 2,200 cars have pre-registered for this weekend’s event. Goodguys VP of Event Operations Harry Daviess sees that figure doubling over the holiday weekend. “There’s a lot of buzz all over town and the fairgrounds has never looked better,” Daviess said from Des Moines. “With perfect weather forecast, plenty of parking room and it being a three-day holiday weekend, I predict we go over 4,200 cars.”
Show car registration at the fairgrounds is open Thursday 7/3 from 10am-5pm, Friday 7/4 from 7am-6pm, Saturday 7/5 7am-3pm and All American Sunday (Late models welcome) 7/6 from 7am-NOON.
Two big fireworks shows are planned at the fairgrounds. The skies above the fairgrounds will light up following Thursday evening’s sprint car races and again on Saturday following the live stage show by Rick K and the Allnighters!
