Wilton Owens of Crosby, Texas and his bright blue ’39 Ford tudor have been named Grand Champion of the Classic Instruments Trophy Dash award for the 2013 season. The Trophy Dash is a special award presented by Classic Instruments at select Goodguys events throughout the season. Each individual winner receives a beautiful custom machined, anodized aluminum award on an elegant wood base.
For his national win, Owens received a special grand prize trophy (pictured below) as well as a limited edition vintage racing jacket.
Built by Goldman Customs in Meridian, Mississippi (builders of the 2013 Truck of the Year-early) Owens’ beautiful sedan is a beautiful shade of blue. It features a custom chassis, a polished ZZ430 engine, polished Intro Wheels, smoothed bumpers, and a brown leather interior featuring a one-off dash with Classic Instruments gauges mounted in the center.
Owens was selected as a finalist for the Trophy Dash award last summer at the Goodguys PPG Nationals in Detroit. Other finalists included Michael Corazzelli’s ’32 Ford, Dennis Wellbrock’s ’62 Chevy, Oscar & Jane Gamble’s 32 ford and Joe Sahli’s 40 ford.
