Today was a special day for Goodguys! Together with the P-Town Pushrods and the Altamont Cruisers car club we were able to bring a little joy and some awesome Mexican food to the patients at the Livermore Veterans Hospital.
The mini car show and luncheon is an annual tradition put together by Castro Valley’s Ethel Gilmore, a devout volunteer who together with her husband Bob has dedicated her life to helping and putting Veterans first. You can imagine how happy the patients are to see good old American iron in their parking lot and warm friendly faces coming to visit, serve and reminisce.
The Livermore Veterans Hospital houses Veterans of Foreign Wars including WWII, Vietnam and the Gulf War as well as other conflicts. The patients range from 25 years to one man we met today who was 101 years old!
Which car did they like best? The Goodguys G/RS ’69 Camaro of course! Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this such a happy and uplifting day!
