Goodguys has taken delivery of a brand-spanking new 2014 Chevrolet “Short Crew” 1500 Silverado and guess what? We’re modding it for SEMA! Yep – we’re gonna paint it, lower it, tune it and basically make it the coolest late model Chevy truck at the entire SEMA show. We’re calling it the G1500 ASV (AutoCross Support Vehicle).
The truck is currently at McGaughys Suspension Parts in Fresno getting outfitted with one of their deluxe drop kits. Once the new suspension is installed the truck will go to Banks Power in Azusa, CA to get “really happy.”
The team at Banks Power will install their patented Ram Air Intake, Torque Tube Exhaust Manifolds, AutoMind programmer, straight-shot methanol-water injection, Banks I.Q. man-machine interface and finally the Banks Power “Monster Exhaust” system.
When the Banks Power team finishes their installations, the truck will head to its final destination before SEMA – Dominator Street Rods in Tracy, California. Once at Dominator, Leonard Lopez and his team will hand fabricate a one-off body kit, do all the paint & body prep before coating it in a luscious PPG Goodguys yellow with “Silver Ice” stripes.
The truck will roll on Budnik’s new six-lug titanium & brushed “G12 wheels” (22”x10” all the way around) wrapped in BF Goodrich KDW tires. Other custom additions include a Street Scene Grille insert and tonneau cover from A.R.E.
