The longest-running Goodguys national event on the schedule returns home to Pleasanton this weekend! It’s the Goodguys 27th West Coast Nationals presented by Flowmaster and it’s going to fill the entire city of Pleasanton, California with over 3,500 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and tricked out trucks through 1972 vintage! The hi-quality cars, the special awards, the traditional gatherings, the parties and the pageantry of Pleasanton is like no other event Goodguys produces. Things all get started Monday, August 19th when we kick off the Fred Zimmerman Memorial Hot Rod Week! Four straight days of guided driving tours, shop visits and hot rod fellowship are on tap! Hot Rod Week is open to all hot rodders (no registration is required) and takes place Monday 8/19 through Thursday 8/22! All you have to do to come along is get your rod, custom, muscle car or classic to the Pleasanton Hilton (7050 Johnson Dr, Pleasanton, CA) by 8am each morning to get the daily tour map! Friday through Sunday “It’s On” at the Fairgrounds! See over 3,500 show cars through ’72 vintage, over 300 vendor exhibits, lots of live music, Builder’s Choice awards by Sam Foose & Gary Meadors, arts & crafts, pinstriper’s “Brush Bash”, cruising and lots more family fun!
A special “Nitro Thunderfest” (vintage top fuel dragsters and altereds) will take place Friday and Saturday afternoon then on Saturday evening we’ll crown America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod!
The “Western Model Engine Exposition” – a special exhibit of over 100 model engines will be held inside the Agricultural building. Model engine builders will be coming in from all over the world for the exhibit. Tether Cars and Valve Cover races also make their return to the West Coast Nationals this year.
