Hot rodding’s clown price, Norm Grabowski will serve as the Hot Rod Hero of the 5th Nashville Nationals, May 21-23 at LP Field in downtown Nashville. Look for the loveable, laughable legend behind the wheel of his latest automotive offering – a ’29 Nash adorned in typical Grabowski trim.
Norm has been one of hot rodding’s signature characters since the late 50s. He’s perhaps best known for his “Kookie T” ‘27 Ford roadster used in the television show 77 Sunset Strip.
The car was featured on the cover of the October, 1955 issue of Hot Rod Magazine and later in the April 29, 1957 issue of Life Magazine.
In the early 90s Norm rolled out ”Kookie II” doing a promotional tour that included a stop at the 1992 West Coast Nationals in Pleasanton.
More than just a hot rodder, Grabowski was and still is a superior craftsman and performer. He enjoyed hundreds of bit parts in both television and motion pictures in 1960s and 70s Los Angeles. He relocated to Lead Hill Arkansas in the mid 80s where he now focuses on his elaborate wood carvings. His “Norm Skulls” – elaborately carved and decorated shift knobs are highly sought after by rodders world wide. He’s considered one of the finest wood carvers in the country.
Don’t miss your chance to meet hot rod royalty in Nashville!
