All Star Cast Assembled for Goodguys 2013 Sponsor Shootout AutoCross

The nation’s premier drivers are set to square off this Saturday, July 13th for the Goodguys 2013 Sponsor Shootout AutoCross – a specialty event held during the Goodguys 16th PPG Nationals July 12-14 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio. The special four-round, 12-car single elimination format ‘Shootout features some of the nation’s most accomplished drivers representing all 12 national Goodguys AutoCross series sponsors.

Drivers entered include Mark Turner (’66 Corvette, AFCO), Stacy Tucker (’69 Camaro, AutoMeter), Phil Gerber (’66 Chevelle, Roadster Shop), Brad Coomer (’70 Chevy C10, Rocket Racing Wheels), Rob McGregor (’69 Chevy C10, Hurst Shifters), Bret Voelkel (’33 Ford, Ridetech), Cheryl Herrick (’67 Chevy Nova, Jet Hot), Josh Leisinger (’70 Camaro, Summit Racing), Kevin Miller(’69 Camaro, Optima Batteries), Brian Finch (’71 Camaro, BF Goodrich), Kyle Tucker (’70 Camaro, Detroit Speed) and Danny Popp (’72 Corvette, JRi Shocks).

The ‘Shootout’s defending Champion Brad Coomer returns to drive the all black Summers & Sons ’70 C-10 Chevy pickup. Ridetech’s Bret Voelkel meanwhile, comes into the event fresh off a big win in the 2013 Optima Batteries Faceoff track event at Road America behind the wheel of his sinister ’33 Ford.

“This is by far the toughest field yet,” said Goodguys Sponsorship & Sales Director Ed Capen. “We’ve got champions, major event winners, guys and gals who are well-versed in every kind of motorsport, especially in AutoCross. It’s going to be a duel to the end.”
