Ron Cizek’s Ridler Award-winning ’40 Ford coupe is coming to the Goodguys 13th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals April 5-7 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds to compete for the Goodguys 2013 March Performance Street Rod d’Elegance crown. Built by Andy Leach and his team at Cal Automotive Creations in Omaha, Nebraska – Cizek’s’40 Ford is literally a work of art with a dizzying array of mods.
One of the first things you’ll notice about the coupe is its radical front end. Made from scratch, the hood was shortened 4 inches and re-contoured to flow into the now car’s 5-inch shorter grille. The grille itself was made using 180 different parts creating a modern day version of the iconic ’40 grille.
Other highlights include flawless paint & body by Charlie Hutton Color Studios, English leather interior, handmade wheels, blown flathead engine and many, many more goodies. Speaking of Charlie Hutton – the man himself will be on hand all weekend in Del Mar to select the Goodguys Builder’s Choice awards.
The 13th Del Mar Nationals features over 2,500 1972 & earlier rods, customs, classic, muscle cars and trick trucks, plus hundreds of vendor exhibits, swap meet & car corral, FREE kids entertainment, model car show, live music and lots more!
