Eight-time Goodguys Street Rod Shootout Champion Keith Palcisko of Columbia Station, Ohio has passed away. Palcisko, 55, succumbed to injuries sustained in a work related accident on June 11th. Over the years, his big block Chevy powered ’33 Willys was always the car to beat in the Hot Rod division of the 1/8th mile Street Rod Shootout.
His final win came in 2010 at the Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise in Norwalk, Ohio where he posted an 1/8th mile time of 6.028 seconds to defeat Gary Ippolito’s ’39 Ford from Bay Village, OH. Prior to that, he rattled off 7 wins at the Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals in Indianapolis. He held the record for most Goodguys Street Rod Shootout wins.
He was also a faithful Goodguys member since 1989 when he attended the first-ever Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals. According to his son Kevin, he had just put a 600-inch Chevy big block in his Willys to make it into a street-legal 8-second ¼ mile car. He will be missed dearly.
The Palcisko family has requested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 20470 Lorain Road, Cleveland OH 44126.
