The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association was recognized recently by the city of Pleasanton, California receiving the “Excellence in Business Award” at the 49th Annual Community Service Awards Gala held Friday, March 23rd at the Firehouse Arts Center in downtown Pleasanton. The award recognizes “businesses that have made a positive impact in the Pleasanton community.” Goodguys has been holding events in the city of Pleasanton since 1983, culminating in last weekend’s 30th annual All American Get-Together at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
Since 1983, the city estimates Goodguys events have brought more than $539 million in economic impact to the Tri-Valley region (Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore). On hand to accept the award on Goodguys’ behalf was company President Marc Meadors.
“Pleasanton is a premier destination for car people all over the world who come to Goodguys events at the Fairgrounds,” Meadors shared upon accepting the award. “Our event attendees always say what a special place Pleasanton is and how they look forward to returning each year. We’d like to thank the city for treating our out of town guests so warmly with your great restaurants, comfortable hotels, hospitality and a sparkling clean city. We’d also like to thank the police department for “going easy on our guys” and the road crews for keeping the streets so smooth” which garnered a resounding chuckle to the room.
Goodguys will hold three additional events at the fairgrounds in Pleasanton this year including the 19th Summer Get-Together June 2 & 3, the 26th West Coast Nationals August 24-26 and the 23rd Autumn Get-Together November 10 & 11.
