If you’re looking for excitement this weekend at the Goodguys 2nd Spring Lone Star Nationals (March 16-18) at Texas Motor Speedway, look no further than the Goodguys AutoCross.
The course at Texas Motor Speedway yields the highest speeds of any track Goodguys visits, combining a challenging mix of long straightaway’s and hairpin turns, guaranteed to get the competitor’s attention and the crowds on the fence pumped up!
“This particular course is unique in that it provides two different racing surfaces,” said Ed Capen of Goodguys. “It combines a slicker sealed portion with a gritty surface in some spots. Drivers have to be on their toes here. This track offers the largest ‘foot print’ of any course we have so it’s always exciting down here. They say everything is bigger in Texas right?”
Five classes of competition will be held this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway highlighted by the all new PRO class. PRO point’s leader Bret Voelkel of Ridetech rides into Ft Worth on a hot streak but will face competition from Phil Gerber and the Roadster Shop team and others. Competition will also be held in Street Rod (’55 & older), Street Machine (’55-’72), Truck (thru ’72) and the Super Sunday class (All years, makes & models on Sunday).
The Goodguys AutoCross is free to all registered event participants. All entries must have 200 tread width tires and pass a basic tech inspection prior to running the course! For more, click here: http://www.good-guys.com/events/goodguys-autocross
